I’m very proud on my large collection of original
HP-01 prototype parts.
There are early case drafts of the designers made form different materials.
Many of those parts have nothing in common with the HP-01 watch released finally.

Due to fortunate circumstances these about 35 years old parts haven’t been scrapped but found their way to my HP-01 museum instead. These parts and the above shown complete HP-01 prototype watches represent the highlights of my HP-01 collection, which for that reason is assumed to be unique.

This is a prototype made of black plastic. It already has the final shape and the final red crystal as well as keyboard frame and the original key set. Obviously the electronics module wasn’t ready at that time…

This very interesting HP-01 prototype consits of final case material (stainless steel) and has the final design but has a clear crystal (instead of a red one). Look at the differing keyboard layout (yellow print) with a “DSP” feature. Below is a picture of the final keyboard layout.
